Lorry Catches Fire Near Anjaneyaswamy Temple in Chintamani

Chintamani : On Saturday night, a lorry traveling near the Anjaneyaswamy temple on the outskirts of Chintamani city was engulfed in flames. The driver managed to escape unharmed, but unfortunately, the lorry was almost entirely destroyed by the time the fire brigade arrived.

According to reports, the driver noticed smoke and fire emanating from the lorry as it approached the temple on the Chintamani-Kolar road. Acting swiftly, the driver stopped the lorry by the side of the road and vacated the vehicle. Soon after, the lorry was engulfed in flames.

Fire brigade officer SK Karianna and his team were immediately alerted to the incident and rushed to the scene. However, despite their best efforts, the lorry was already heavily damaged by the time they arrived.

The lorry was registered to Allabakash of Kurutahalli, and the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. It is believed that the high temperatures of the summer months may have contributed to the incident, as issues such as overheating exhausts, diesel tank leaks, and battery short circuits are more common during this time of year.

In response to the incident, Fire Brigade Officer SK Karianna stressed the importance of vehicle owners and drivers exercising caution and taking steps to prevent such accidents from occurring.

The firefighting personnel involved in the incident were Lokesh, Vijayakumar, Venkatashivareddy, Uday, Raju, Vijay, and Y. Lokesh.
